Match Report
The Under 12 team left today in high spirits, with the prospect of two tough matches at BCS. The BCS team had proved strong in our last fixture, beating Moyles Court convincingly 9-6. We were out for revenge today! The girls played extremely well in both matches. In the first v Buckholme Towers, Jenny made a brilliant start, defending fiercely and linking well with Alisha and Lucy to keep Buckholme from scoring. In the second quarter Buckholme took the lead 4-2. Jasmine worked hard in the goal third, moving quickly and shooting with confidence. India played extremely well, covering her player and making some excellent interceptions. It is brilliant to see such a young player acquitting herself! Lucia was again invaluable as team captain and centre, passing quickly and accurately. Hannah was excellent at Wing Attack, always calm under pressure and staying focused at all times. Moyles Court pulled back ahead in the third and fourth quarter and finished worthy winners 6-4.
In the second game v BCS, it was a cagey affair. Neither team managed to score in the first half as a result of nerves and inexperience. Alicia, Caitlin & Sandra subbed on and tried extremely hard to get the ball up to their attackers. Jasmine finally broke the deadlock in the final quarter and it was a wondergoal from India that won the game from Moyles Court, 2-0. Brilliant effort girls - looking forward to the final game of the season next week!
